I was on a School trip Recently to Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, And on our Way Through Emporia, KS... I had Noticed they Replaced their Allertor125 System with 2001-SRNB's. I have Spoken with Lyon County's EMA director and He Said the System Was Well Over 50 Years old. I can Only Agree With Him. The System that Served Lyon County for Over 50 years was Full of Allertor 125's, And Were Sent Off to Auction, Wich Some were in Non Operating Condition, And Would Possibly Never Sound the ' End of the World ' Signal Again. Emporia Invested in 130 2001-SRNB's Straight Out of Federal Signal, Wich Cost them About 450 thousand dollars to Have the Sirens All Hooked Up Wirelessly, Instead of Communicting with them through Telephone to Activate Each of Lyon Countie's 109 Allertors. I could Say- The System was FAR out of date, And Communicating with each and Every one of the Sirens through Telephone Individually has to be a Hard Job. Now All they have to do is Flip One Switch, And Off Lyon Countie's 130 sirens Scream to Warn of Pending Danger. They Also Have a Filter System, In Wich They Can Set Sirens off in certian Areas in danger from the Storm, Instead of Scaring All of Lyon County Sh*tless. They will Not Excpect another System Update until about 2045.
