A U.S. Siren Map is coming on Google Earth!

Tue Oct 10, 2017 4:11 am

Hey Guys, This is Nick Metts. I wanted to let everyone know that I am currently in the works of making a United States Siren Map via Google Earth. This map will include the siren location as well as a radius around the siren location showing the 70db range of the particular siren. I am posting this now because this is going to be an extremely long process to complete. It may be a few years before it is completed. I am writing this to ask everyone for locations of certain sirens in the areas you live, coordinates of the sirens you have mapped, or invitations to edit your maps so I can access the siren coordinates. Please do not think of me asking to edit your maps as a sign that I will do any harm to your map, I, like some others actually understand how time-consuming it is to make a siren map and how disgusted you can become once it has been hacked. Please share the locations you have below, or post the link to your map, below. If you choose to invite me to your map., please send the invitation to [email protected].

I already have a start on the map, if you wish to see pictures, just let me know in the comments section and I will see about posting some images of some of the areas I have already mapped.

Let me know if you have any questions as well.

Thanks, everyone!

I use "Google My Maps" for my mapping projects. It's a fairly simple program, which makes it a good starting point for someone who hasn't done something like this before.

No problem! Gratitude is always appreciated. You could also use Google Earth, but i've found it to be very prone to crashing (from my experience).

Yes, I would highly recommend starting with "Google My Maps" if this is your first time ever making a map. It is pretty easy to use.
