Creepy Siren Mix

Not my video!

Seems like a Whelen was malfunctioning like the ones I've recorded. It tries to talk and start in some signal and fails. Then it goes off in wail, cuts out, and goes to the gas protection tone (the first time I’ve heard an actual siren use it on yt).
It sounds like there may be a couple of Whelens, 2001s, and a STL-10 in the mix, although that STL-10 might be a 2001 about to die.

I bet it sounded creepier in person.

Yup, that would be a European tone.

Manhattan, Kansas has Whelen 2810's, 2001's of all sorts, an Allertor, SD-10, 1000T, Model 5, and a Modulator 3012. That would make a pretty nice ambience recording.

Inversed... outdoor protection, shelter in place alarm?

At 2m10s onward, that low pitched siren is very eerie! :o

Manhattan has 6 Whelen 2810s that were put in place by the US Army Corps of Engineers. Initially it's primary purpose was to warn those in low-lying areas of a dam failure due to an earthquake (Tuttle Creek Lake). The "Gas Proof Protection" was the tone used for Dam Failure. The US Army Corps of Engineers have since made significant upgrades to the dam and gave control of the sirens to Riley County. I'm not sure why they are still testing the dam failure tones. Kind of interesting I see this today as I was just in Manhattan!

Where is the Allertor and Modulator? I've seen Manhattan's SD-10, Tbolts and the Model 5 in Downtown which I swear has moved three different locations, lol.

The Modulator is on the southwest corner of the intersection of Hillcrest & Jardine. While I believe the Allertor is on a building on the southwest corner of Manhattan and Chaflin.

Also, there's another Allertor in the same county, in the city of Riley. It's mounted on a pole, hidden in a few trees, just south of state route 77, on the very far western edge of N West St.
