Good lord, that thing's taken a beating. I was in the area and went by there in late July last year to see the thing and the front of the horn was still there, mind the incredibly huge gaping crack in the horn (I have photos... somewhere. let me dig them up.) However back when I saw it around 2001 it never had that huge crack in it. Wonder how much the missing horn end will affect the sound output.

You'd think that with that huge piece of fiberglass and deathly sound output the manufacturer (ACA) would have at least taken some kinds of measures to stabilize the thing.. at least by a layer of steel wire mesh inside of the fiberglass or something along those lines. I wonder if someone still has the T-135 molds and would be able to make replacements, seems like more and more of them are falling apart these days, but still deafen those standing within 100' of the thing.

Very big problem for the aging P50 siren. We do refurbish these sirens with re-enforced fiberglass horns and screen stabilzers.

Just drove by this siren. Here are some pictures. These were taken with my iPhone, so please excuse the quality.

That's exactly why I love my iPhone...who are you kidding. Those photos are terrific! Really lets you see into the throat of that beast!

Interesting to see that the outer piece still hasn't been fixed. I wonder if they even will.

I just got word from a MSCEMA official that the horn is being repaired at a city shop. I don't know when the horn is going back on.

I was in Memphis last week and the P-50 has been removed from its pole. Hopefully it'll be going back up with a repaired horn soon.
