Air Horn Aquired

Sun Oct 08, 2006 11:12 pm

I've now got a air horn from either a Mack or a Freightliner truck. Anyone know where to get a compressor at? Thanks.

Grover.com or google the wolfe whistle site for the proper address. They are expensive as heck! The little compressor if a hundred or more! Its not a direct drive like you see on the cheapies at autozone. It charges a tank and then you get a 12v solenoid or lanyard type valve. J.C. Whitney has some stuff too. jcwhitney.com
Q2B or not 2B that is the question.

Ok, thanks. This air horn is a grover for sure, I read the back of the horn. Time to save up for the compressor now.

You might save some money by buying a cheap 120 volt compressor from Harbor Freight and use it to fill a portable tank installed in your vehicle. These are generally a lot cheaper than 12 volt compressors.

Ok. And for a update, I took it down to the local body shop to use the 500 lb compressor, and it's a grover stuttertone FIRE TRUCK horn!

Thanks. This one is older though, bit deeper toned than the standard Stuttertone Horn.
