Very Low-Pitched 2001-SRNB

Wed Jul 08, 2009 2:34 pm

Well, I didn't expect that this 2001 would be this low-pitched. It's usually very high-pitched, but I think it has a low battery. It's been reported as well. Anyways, enjoy! :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbhTUP2tdk0

You know, if all 2001's had that same pitch as this one, they would be at least bearable to hear. :P

Very true. I think the SRNB is gonna go back to being very high-pitched again when they change the batteries. It's a possibility.

But didn't they just install those new controls? Because before that 2001 was ran by an FC, 2001 motor starter relay box and a DC rectifier.

Those batteries shouldn't already be bad, sounds to me like they aren't getting charged.

I think they installed the new controls when they moved the SRNB in April. It probably isn't getting charged. Good thing I told our EMA about it. Hopefully, they'll fix that problem soon.

Well, in 2007, they used to do a 1 minute Attack, and a 1 minute Alert. I think they now test short because a lot of people were probably complaining. Plus, a lot of people live right next to the siren.

see, I'm wondering what the low-voltage cutoff is for the Federal DC sirens. that thing only ran for 20 seconds. If, say, the batteries weren't recharged after the last use, then that could be an explanation.

I have to agree. I think it sounds better lower tones that it does high toned.
