Interesting website I found with video

Sun May 31, 2009 3:18 am

I was at work today, bored out of my mind and was looking through some websites and ran across this one which I have never seen. The intersting thing is a thermal graph video of a rotating sirens showing the decibel range. Enjoy!

How nice, they are using the audio clips from Eric Green's website.

Ugh, more plagarism. Hope Eric has a real go at them...

Also even more reasons to lose respect for them:

P-15 gets replaced by an ATI HPSS32. Say what? That P-15 has got to be a HELL of a lot louder than that loudspeaker. Far field measurements? 2cm away from the speaker, yeah. Notice how ATI call it a High Powered Speaker Station, not a siren?

They could've put a much better siren there, if they really had to replace the P-15. Yes, it is at a nuclear power plant so battery backup would be nice, but they are wasting their money as ATIs require far more for the same coverage, and are actually really expensive. You could get a T-135AC/DC for the same price as that HPSS32, from what i've heard.

I wouldn't like to live near that power plant, especially with those sirens. I can just picture them failing under a meltdown.

That simulation video was pretty cool, though.

It's not really their job to know the precise siren make and model, just the acoustics and geographic affects.

They could at least know the name of what they're trying to sell.
