Video of Mixed Sirens going off

Mon Dec 22, 2008 7:07 pm

Im not sure if this has been posted already, but this a video from the summer in Columbus, OH during a Tornado Warning. It sounds like a mix of different Whelens, but the closer of them all sounds like a 3016. Great wind up!! The sirens start at 1:25.

Did you see that lightning strike at 1min 42sec in?

I liked the ambiance before the sirens going off though. :)

Yeah, that was really freaky looking! Anyone know what causes that effect of seeming as though lightning hit right in front of the camera, even if it's usually a little ways off?

That is an awesome strike! Those sirens fit the video perfectly. That town has a vary of them too? At 1:39 a siren which sounds like a Thunderbolt 1003 winds up. Anyone else hear it?

Yeah there aren't any TBolt 1003s in Columbus or anywhere in Franklin County. There are a few 1000Ts still left but it won't be long until those are replaced. I don't believe there are any TBolts in the Short North area. I think the closest one is in Grandview Heights several miles away and on the other side of 315. I love seeing the lightning under the shelf cloud along with the sirens.

I took a video from the came night but it's not nearly as good. In the first one you can barely here some 4004s. The second video was right next to a 4004 but you can't see it because my camera wouldn't focus on it.
