Which countys have ACA Allertors?

There are modulators in Hamilton County?

I know where two of them are in Newport (because I work at Newport on the Levee).

No, I was just saying that those are also in Northern Kentucky.

The only electronic sirens I know of in Hamilton County are the EOWS 1212s in Crosby Twp.

Adrian, MI has one, but is no longer used.
I thought there was another one on the west side of the state.
But i can't remember.

The 1212s were originally installed as a radioactive fallout alarm for the Fernald Uranium enriching plant they used to make fuel rods for nuclear reactors there. They were put up in 1986. I remember the fallout tone was a pulsing attack tone..... There are also 3 to 4 of them in butler county as well (town of Ross and Shandon). Since Fernald has been shut down they are weather sirens now.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I'm not sure how much longer the 1212s are going to last as there have been reports of a couple of them in the Ross area malfunctioning after being hit by lightning.

Oh no problem. I grew up out in ross when I was kid and remember watching them install the 1212 down at the firehouse. They sounded them biweekly but I don't rember what day it was. 1st week of the month 1212 test fallout alarm was followed by the FS model 5 on the firehouse. The 1212s sound better from a distance. I'm not a big fan of the electronic sirens. You just can't beat the sound of a naturally aspirated mechanical siren. just my opinion I could be wrong.

Do you know if they still use that model 5? The first time I found out about that siren I was wondering why they had two sirens so close together.

Loudoun County, Virginia has a few of them still remaining. There used to be Allertors in Middleburg, Philomont, Neersville, Lovettsville, Arcola, Round Hill, Lucketts and possibly Purcellville. Now, the only ones remaining are Philomont (active as a fire siren), Lucketts (decommissioned) and Arcola ( also active, I believe).

Florence County, AL has at least one there. They used to have more before 2008-2009 which was when they upgraded most of their siren system.
