Cellphone tower. Ocean City has a system of Modulators.

But first...I finally found out why I keep hearing this siren at my house. It's actually located at a dam about a mile away from me (not at a fire station, like I originally thought). The siren is activated whenever the dam is opened in order to alert people downstream of the rush of water that is headed their way.

Unfortunately, the dam is not open to the public, so I cannot get near the siren to determine the exact model. But I did search the internet for pictures of the dam, and I believe I found one that captures the siren. Please see the extreme upper right corner of the attached picture.

This looks like a 3V8-H(B) or a 7V8(B), just as you predicted. Would you agree?

My best guess is that they could have been a PA system
