I thought that too, however I don't think Spartan ever made sirens with the motor on top and the chopper and stator below. Plus That curved bar over the siren is not on Spartan sirens.

The thing that screams out "Darley Champion" to me is the motor on top, stator and chopper on the bottom arrangement and the length of the ports (the 8 port ratio is also a factor.).

You have a point. It doesn't seem to match up to a shroudless Champion as seen in this video at 2:56:

Cant tell if this is a Sterling or not any guesses guys?
Siren belongs to the Armstrong Co. Pa Station 20 Fire Department
That would be the siren from the Apollo #2 Fire Department just outside of Westmoreland County, here is a pic of it from the Siren Archive. Very interesting that it is an 8 port siren!

the siren from apollo 2 fire station looks like a sterling k-5 possibly a k-8?

I found this siren at the Hope Township Fire Department in Midland County, Michigan. To me it appears to be a Federal Signal Model 5/7. However, I'd feel more comfortable with a second opinion.

A Sterling K-5 has exposed ports (Basically you can see them). Here's a video of a K-5:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELv3zeT-GjE The ports are underneath the top cover.
Here you can see the ports clearly, again it's a K-5. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4AN6CnQBMgg&t=42s

The siren on the building looks similar to the Darley Champion in Payne, OH, as seen here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WN8mctgp9g
However I don't think it's a Darley.
Do K-8s exist? Never heard of them.

Welcome to Pennsylvania, where test days are few and far between. However, where there is one, you can find the recordings here! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTiIF1 ... q5mZXtMDnw
