Kid, does your keyboard not have a period or shift keys?
To read your posts I have to think. -I don't want to hurt myself!!

Good of you to report that problem.
Hope they fix it before something happens.
Also glad to learn they will not replace their Thunderbolts.

After Denver's blizzard, I noticed that snow was blown against a Thunderbolt's northwest facing horn, and the screen was completely covered.
They should park horns facing south.

I`ve noticed on all 5 of our Thunderbolts the horn stops in the same direction. How does this happen? Can Thunderbolt horns turn in the wind?

It must be just coincidence.

If they all have the same length of test, 60 seconds?,and turn at the same rate, they should all end up in the same direction.

They don't park.

Just what I was gonna say, The people who installed them probably calculated the test times with the RPM of the horn and wether or not the rotator assem. would be turned constantly or will stop on the wind downs.

I think they silent test them once a month but i don`t know. But when we had a tornado warning , the horn on 1 Thunderbolt was facing a different direction, but the next day it was back in its usual direction :?

How do they silent test a Thunderbolt?

Do they have the capability of operating just the rotator, chopper and blower motors separately?

Seems like a lot of complication and signal circuits.

I'd just operate the whole siren.

Can Thunderbolt horns turn in the wind?
Yes they can. They have a drive band that should allow
the horn to move in high winds. If the drive bands are
too loose then the horns can be blown around easier
than normal.

I've seen pictures of the RCM cabinet for a Thunderbolt. On the lower right side, there are toggle switches for independently opeating the blower, chopper, rotator, and the solenoids in the case of a 1003 model. So a test like that is possible.

Oh, one must go to the siren to test it that way?
I was thinking of a system-wide silent test without having to visit each siren.
Thanks.
