To me, dual tone T-bolts have that "clipping distortion" sound to them anyway, due to their blower. That hard and raspy sound makes the siren sound more authoriative and... mean!
FS T-Bolt: What distance were you from the siren during recording?

its nice. but next time it would be a good idea to refrain from talking during recording.

i was at least 50 yards away...probably 50-75 yards. im sorry man it was my first Thunderbolt test and i was so excited. also i wasnt planning on recording so i didnt think about being quiet.

Yeah, despite the encoding artifacts, it sounds excellent.

Excellent recording! Reminds me of the first time I was right next to a Thunderbolt 1003AT, where the projection horn was only mounted about 8 meters off the ground. It was the most ear shattering experience I've ever had, and my ears were ringing for a few hours afterwards. However, I would do it again in a heartbeat, albeit with earplugs. :D

the last siren test i went to was a Thunderbolt 1000T, but it didnt rotate. the horn was a little to the left of me so it didnt blow me away. i was about 50-75 feet from it...had it been directed right at me, God knows how id be. the city fixed it so its rotating again!
