Banshee Damper Flap

Hello,

This may expire if I find it’s easier to make my own.

So someone (probably mineral point) decided it was a good idea to take the damper flap out of my coded Banshee. So I’m looking for a replacement. I’m aware I most likely won’t find an original, and that’s okay, just looking for something that would substitute.

Could you post more images of the solenoid housing along with a measurement of the intake?

To be honest, you will be easier off getting a piece of plate steel and making a new one. You could use a piece of cardboard to mock one up before cutting the plate to get the fitment just right, as I imagine it will be slightly eliptoid like a throttle butterfly

My apologies, that’s the only picture I believe I have.
I will get measurements eventually. If I had to guess maybe a foot diameter.

I could do that, however, I don’t work with metal at the moment and I could probably have someone do it if I get the cardboard mock-up.

That's a good idea.
I will say when I was 13/14 like you, one of my first metalworking tools I bought was a angle grinder and also a good drill. I bet you could go to Princess Auto there in Calgary and pick a inexpensive one of both. Or go on facebook marketplace or Kijiji and find some cheap good used ones.

Using those two tools; a set of drill bits, a cutoff wheel, grinding wheel, and flap disc, you would be amazed at what you can make.

In fact, if you look at the lower belt cover repair panel I made for my Mobil Directo, I made that freehand with a cutoff wheel on my old Black and Decker angle grinder.

Once you get the above power tools, perhaps save up for a new or good used 110v stick welder or flux core wire feed. With these three tools and some practice, you will be unstoppable with basic beginner metal fab.

Thank you very much! Thanks for understanding what position I am in too, lol.

I will try to get my own metalworking tools too, thanks for the info!
