Eisenhower Tunnel sirens. Make?

Thu Nov 22, 2007 8:31 pm

On the right before entering each tunnel there is a brown-painted small model 5-looking siren. <<=
Any ideas?
Thanks

Got a photo or a link, so we can see the sirens in question?

Sincerely yours,

Sorry. Was transporting emergent so could not take photos.

There is a 2t22 near I-70 west of Denver which I still have not seen because of driving emergent.
On return, planning to find it, another hospital called for an emergentransport.
There may be 3 2t22s in Denver metro area.
I've only seen one.

A Model 2 has three louvers, though there is a chance that the siren could be a Model 2.

A Model 1 has about four louvers close together at the top. Some might also have two, but the diameter is a little smaller than a Model 2.

Be careful about calling these sirens unless you're sure. A lot of air samplers (for pollution) look like chicken feeder sirens. It's a natural design if you want to keep rain out and let things in (like air) or out (like sound)

If not a siren, I should be whacked with a Thunderbolt belt -- Please.
They were on a sign on the right side of the road away from each entrance .
Looked only about a foot in diameter.

I'll call them when I have a chance.
When I went into the tunnel, I wanted to sound the siren to see what it sounded like in a tunnel.
But traffic had already pulled into the right lane so I couldn't justify it.
If no one were in the tunnel on the return, I would have sounded it.
But even at 03:30, there were vehicles in the tunnel.

I have pictures on film of those somewhere from about 5 years ago. They are definitely Model 2s, I believe on both ends.

I didn't know Model 2s where that small. Thanks.
They are painted dark brown.
