I grew up in Rochester, and remember some parts of the old system (Thunderbolts, 2T22s, EOWS-612s, SD-10s, Whelens and Model 5T sirens) before it was replaced in 1993, however photographic evidence has been very hard to come by. I have searched for years, looking through Facebook groups and online, and finally came across the only photo of a Thunderbolt known to exist in Rochester from the old system. This photo is from 1973, and this Thunderbolt 1000T (unknown if it was 5/6 or 4/5 port), located the the bottom right of the billboard, was installed atop Old City Hall, and was the first civil defense siren installed in Rochester in 1958 according to newspaper articles from the day.
