The Netherlands siren map

Wed Sep 16, 2020 11:44 pm

I've been recently working on a map for locating all of the Modulators (and any older sirens that aren't MOD2008s) within The Netherlands:
https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid= ... sp=sharing

The map is far from complete, as I've still got the North, South and East parts of Holland to locate their sirens. This honestly may take me months to find all 4,200 sirens.
Seen a: KM Europ, small Klaxon siren and a Gents' of Leicester "ahooga" horn.
Also a big fan of both Apollo and Protec fire alarms.

It says I need access. I think you need to make the map public for it to work, not just link only.

Nice map! Just a little suggestion:
Picture markers are harder to see on the map than regular colored markers. While the picture markers can be useful on a siren map that has a wider variety of different types of sirens, for a map like this where they're nearly all exactly the same siren, it would be a much better design solution to simply use standard colored markers instead.
Architecture preservationist. I enjoy obscure history and mapping things, and grew up around sirens. Not planning to own one.

I've updated the icons' colors/colours to represent these sirens:

Grey: Federal Signal Modulator MOD2008

Yellow: Federal Signal Modulator MOD1004

Dark Blue: Any other siren that's not a Federal Signal Modulator.

More colors/colours may be added if there are any other Modulator models I might end up finding.

Thanks for the locations.
The thing is, I won't be able to add these locations to this particular map, as I am currently working on a newer map.

I'll add these locations to the newer map right away.

No problem.

I found another Dutch siren location:
52.38174020160682, 5.803708789509556

By the way, how is the new map doing?
