Some bad news..

Wed Sep 12, 2007 2:54 am

Ok well you know how Scottsdale has those two HOR's well I just got news from a friend on youtube whos dad works for the Arizona Emergency State Management and he told me that both the HOR's and all the remaining sirens in the Valley are Scheduled to be removed. I have no clue when or how but I will try my best to obtain one and give it to a person with a lot of siren expierence because I have NO CLUE how to even start restoring a siren...

Actually good news! The same person told me they might not even know the sirens exist! He told me it is because of somehow they lost paper work in the 80's... He is urging me to get in touch with emergency management but I don't know if that would let them know they exist.

If they don't have one in a museum in New York City, they ought to, because they were made by the only New York siren manufacturer I know of. The plant was on Broad St. in Staten Island.

Did HOR manufacture any outdoor warning sirens that rotated?

I think I've seen pictures of the Super Sirex on a rotating platform. I don't know why, as it seems to be a fairly omni-directional siren as it is.
