What kind of sirens in Las Vegas?

Sun Aug 19, 2007 3:05 am

I know that they do have a system of thunderbolts. However, about 5 years ago i went there on vacation. I heard a siren going off in whoop mode. It sounded exactly like the sirens in my town, which are whelens, and it was definately electronic, so I was just curious if they do have any whelens?

From what Ive heard, the old tbolts have been dismantled and no new system is in place. Sure it wasnt a far off police or fire vehicle??

In Las Vegas, you can't be sure it wasn't an especially good slot machine hit or some outdoor show. Las Vegas isn't a good place for anyone whose grip on reality is in the least shaky. A strange, strange place.

It was definately a siren, it went off 3 times during the day, did not move sound wise, and there were no emergencies(it was tested)

I think there are some prisons around LV... Might have been a test of a new prison siren system?

Yes, that's a real 500-lb Federal SD-10 I'm holding (braggart!)
