I would like to know when these wonderful line of sirens were introduced, and the final year they were offered.

Our 2t22A has the FS logo, which I believe came into existance in the mid 1970s.

I believe the 2T22 series was introduced in the mid to late 50s, or even early 60s.

Topeka's 2t22s have been here since 1966 and before so i think they we introduced in the early 60s.

Do not base your answers of nothing, as said by Jason several times with good reason. I am seeing three different possible answers, and it is possible that none of them are right. Look at the product brochures from the ARS site, and you may be closer to an answer.

The 2T22 came out in the mid 50s and came out of production in the mid 80s.

How did the Thunderbolt outlive the 2T22?

My guess is because the XT22 series was dual tone only, while the Thunderbolt came in a single tone version.

I presume merely because the Thunderbolt was louder.
But the simplicity and less required maintenance of the 2t22 certainly is a plus.
Would be nice to see a time-line of all the sirens.

Now James, you say that the 2T22 was a dual-tone siren only and that the Thunderbolt could be single-tone, which to me means that CD and EMA prefer single-tone sirens. Why? What's wrong with dual-tone sirens?
