Single phase 2t22's wind up very fast too. If ones wants a slower wind up get a 3 phase Sterling M-5 they have high slip motor's and wind up slow and are dual tone too.

Maybe the 2t22 I heard via computer was on a phase convertor.

Or does a phase convertor make wind-up too slow?
That 500AT in California set off at midnight New Year's Eve was too slow to rise.

We have actually considered a phase convertor rather than my digging 198.5 feet of trench to bury wire from from the sewage treatment plant to the fire station.

But true three-phase is better and a phase convertor is more expensive and would be another complication in the "power train" which could fail.

Failure is something I would be worried about. Apparently not Ft Worth, Tx. I saw a T-Bolt, not in use any longer :( , that has a phase converter hooked to it. Kind of odd. It was in an industrial park too. You can't tell me they didn't have 3 phase power in an industrial area!
Q2B or not 2B that is the question.

How strange. I'd expect three-phase to be easily available everywhere there.

Here in Mount Hope they have the entire city wired for three-phase power; all you need is a transformer.

In Denver metro, three-phase is available in industrial areas. For a fortune they will bring it to a residential area, such as for a pipe organ blower in a home.

All of Fort Worth's old Thunderbolts are 3 phase. I didn't see any with phase converters on them. Every one I saw was hooked up to 3 phase power and I was crazy enough to photograph all of them. All had the same electrical box set up with a meter, disconnect, RCM and radio box.

What is the whole point of this? The 2t22 is beautiful sounding siren, are you trying to make it sound like a Carter or something?
