Madison does pay for the maintenance of their own sirens with us monitoring them and activating them. The siren above is a Huntsville siren. Site H-56.
Have you ever thought about electronic sirens? They have come a long way since the modulators were hit
Limestone county's whelens are holding up really good, and so are the cooper WAVES siren's at UAH
Would you chance it?

I have to wonder how the sirens around the county are numbered now, if the one on Slaughter road is Siren # H-56.
The H stands for Huntsville, since that siren sits (although only by a few feet) in the city of Huntsville and Huntsville pays for the maintenance.

We have 4 Whelens that are on Limestone's system. They are fairly new. As that area of Huntsville grows, there may be a need for more. No plans currently for electronic sirens in Madison Co. tho.

Ok and is it possible that the next time I'm looking at a siren you could silently test it? Like turning the rotator on or a growl test
