Minneapolis to receive 15 Whelen Omni-Alerts (OA2)

From what I’ve heard, these will be installed in downtown Minneapolis by mid to end of 2018. These will go along with the system of Whelen Vortex R4’s and a lone Thunderbolt. Thoughts?

It's a shame Minneapolis got rid of the vintage sirens, i remember Falcon Heights having a Thunderbolt on the roof of the Agriculture Center at the State Fair grounds, i saw it when i rode the Space needle for the first time. At least there is one Thunderbolt in the system, Hopefully it will stay there for a few years...

I have a picture of the State Fair Thunderbolt while I was on the space needle, gotta dig it out. That last Thunderbolt is in very good condition, so I don’t see it going anywhere anytime.

Quick update, apparently they have been installed! Went into downtown today and saw this one in an intersection by US Bank Stadium.

Dang, I have got to go out and see these. When were they installed? I was in Minneapolis last Friday and didn't see any.

Maybe this month..? Not quite sure. I was SUPER surprised when I saw them, I expected them up at the end of the year.

I saw your photo on imgur, i'm sure if you were talking about the new Whelen's or the last Thunderbolt that is still in good condition?
