Since the weather was going to be great today, and Limestone County was testing their sirens, I decided to try to record this test. Since I was running a bit low on time, I decided to go to the closest siren to me in Limestone County: the Whelen 2909 installed along Old Highway 20 in Huntsville, AL just last year, making it the newest siren I've recorded (so far). This siren was fairly loud, but seemed to get kinda quiet at points while sounding and I'm not sure why. I was able to hear a few other nearby Whelens start-up while this siren was sounding, and after the siren had shut off, they could easily be heard finishing up their wail signals for the test, along with one of Brownsferry's 508 sirens finishing up it's alert signal for the test, with the nearest one being over 8.5 miles away! Either way, this was certainly a successful test!

Limestone County, AL tests on the second Monday of every month at 9:15 AM, weather permitting.
