Just getting back to the topic : What's the 'Toshiba' siren's progress? Is progresses are on its horns?

First of all it is not made by Toshiba and you should’ve known that by now. As for progress.. Not much progress quite yet. So far we’ve gotten bolts and assembled the blower, I’ve been removing rust from the large pulley and all the parts that were corroded. I also painted the pulley black, just like it was originally. We will have the motor for the rotor within the next month for sure.

According to the spec sheet, the official name for it is the POW Model 120.

This thread is awesome, by the way. It's what I come to this site to see. Can't wait to hear what the siren sounds like.

Yea, yea, I know. But not to engage a debate, just if you're not noticed clearly, I've made the word Toshiba like this : 'Toshiba', which obiviously not referring the ACTUAL name. :ugeek:

P/S : Sorry for bumping, but what kind of scanners did someone use to catch a siren's activation tones? (e.g DTMF, Two-Tone, FSK, etc.). This question came into my Curiousity list...

Those two-speed sirens discussed earlier were an old Italian design. Many were imported to Argentina and are still built today, using a relay to slowly alternate between slower and faster speeds for a wailing effect.
