Got this at a local auction house 'Secomak GP4'

Hello all, I'm new to the site and looking for your help.
I purchased this siren last week at a local auction house...it was listed as a 'metal pump'
(???). Their loss, my gain! The brass plaque says that it is a Secomak' GP4.
I know absolutely nothing about sirens, but it looks to be in quite good condition.
Can anyone shed some light on it? I guess it was a static unit, but where and how old...I am none the wiser. Am hoping to get it up and running and use it for when I can't get the kids up for school...oh, that'll be every morning then!
Looking forward to your wisdom and knowledge.
Cheers Johnnie
PS Hown do you post an image?
