This is really starting to annoy me.
I'd like to think I'm a relatively forgiving and patient person...I've always licensed my videos under Creative Commons, in the belief that people might educate themselves on what this means, and how to properly use it so my videos can contribute to their work. Occasionally someone would steal, and I'd tell YouTube...and they'd understand how it's still a violation despite the lax license, and handle it.
Evidently, I can't trust the average YouTube <censored by board rules> to actually
read, or whoever's handling copyright complaints now for that matter. I've actually been refused takedowns recently because I used CC-BY...despite the "by" being violated!
I've relicensed all my videos back to the standard "all copyrights reserved" license, and filed complaints against all three of those videos. If you want to use my video, you're still welcome to...you just have to get my written permission first.
