Federal 76A Wiring

Hi all,
I am working on wiring my 76A up to power eventually, so I am looking for advice as for how to do it. Previously, Jeb recommended that I purchase the starter solenoid, battery, and push start from a 1948 Ford 8N tractor. Also, I have included a wiring diagram that I found online, and a personal rendition for my personal needs. DISCLAIMER: I have little proper knowledge on the proper wiring for vehicular sirens, so this is why I am seeking advice. One other thing: what size of wiring gauge should I use? Advice is appreciated,
Thanks.

If I am understanding this properly,
why (on the diagram to the left) are you wiring the siren backwards?
Your key for the color code is a bit off I think.
Also with the diagram on the right, is there any reason why you are only using the negative on the 6v battery and grounding the positive?

You need both positive and negative on batteries to run something.

Honestly, the diagram on the right was the one that I was going on, but as I said, I have absolutely no experience with vehicular wiring, and very minimal experience with it in general. Sorry for looking like a spoon.

The siren isn't directional, so wiring it either way won't skew anything.

Okay I see that now,
What's up with the diagram on the right and the grounding of the positive on the battery?

He said that he was mainly going off the diagram on the left which is more to what he wants to do with his siren.

I've been doing a bit more research, and I stumbled across this diagram below. I read through some older literature that the older Federal Q shares the same motor used on the Class 60/70 series. I may just use this setup, minus the breaking assembly. In addition, I found a momentary floor switch to use on newer Q sirens; would this setup work?
