I thought the late 80's thunderbolts had vertically mounted blowers.
Yes, so to speak, but I was going to ask if we were talking about the entire assembly, box and all, or just the Sutorbuilt roots blowers themselves, which were mounted vertically towards the the end of the Thunderbolt's life.

I was talking about the whole assembly mounted vertically on a pole.

Well I mean you figure that the actual blowers were mounted sideways in the B and C series... shouldn't hurt to you know... turn the whole thing sideways...
It's not mounted sideways, it functions as designed. That's simply the vertical variant of the 4M, the one that takes up more vertical space in favor of horizontal space for more compact mounting situations, or a pipeline that's easier to configure with that variant. If you mounted that model sideways you would encounter the same issues you'd have with the horizontal variant, if any issues were to arise at all.

In reading PA there is a thunderbolt 1000 with a vertical blower. Also would that effect the blower since it’s vertical?

I thought we were talking about the actual blower boxes being vertically mounted, not C series blowers.

We are, I was just making it clear that the late models used vertical 4M variants and weren’t just mounted sideways. The actual discussion is still about whole assemblies turned vertically.

Oh. Well that's that then.
