So, looks like the Mayor of Reading decided to try and light off the archaic Thunderbolt atop City Hall for the 9/11 ceremony last month, but was told it wasn't functional. So what does he do?
He decides to have it repaired, and it will be tested tommorow at 8:30am to determine if any other repairs are needed.
The last time it went off, the USSR was still a thing, and Reagan wasn't even president yet. I wonder how it'll sound.
The mayor plans to sound it every 9/11, in honor of the lives lost.
Surprisingly, public response seems to be very positive. According to a poll on this article: http://www.readingeagle.com/news/articl ... -city-hall, over 60% of people think it's a good idea for them to test it, so that it'll work in the event of a real emergency.
