My Howler to be reworked!

Sun Jul 08, 2007 8:14 am

I am going to disassable my ACA Howler and rework it from 9/12 to 10/12 operation. Since it is just next to imposable to find a 10/12 federal 500AT. And since the Howler is very close in size if not the same. I am going to change my Howler to 10/12. I bet it will sound just like a 500AT

So are you going to use the rotor and stator from a Mobil Directo?

How are you going to do this exactly?

I am taking the rotor and stator off and having one made exactly like them but in 10/12

Are you planning to have a rotor cast? Will you have to create a mould for this? I'd love to know how you do it, because I'd like to make a 10/12 rotor/stator and stick it on a motor for "personal use."

I may not do this as I found out it would cost about 6000.00 at that price I think not.

Wow that is a real bargain, that's enough to run a three phase T-bolt. Is it a new one?

Any more of those available?
Would it be reliable and suitable enough to run a 2t22A for a tornado warning?

That would save me burying 200 feet of underground three-phase cable.

Also, Lassie, on 241 V three-phase, speeds up too quickly.
I'd rather she be a little slower in speed up - which I presume a phase convertor would do.

Or should I bury cable and connect to real three-phase power?

Thank you,
