There are 2 Model Ls on the Casco Bay Bridge. I've looked for days and have not found a single CD siren in Portland except that one bolt. I honestly think they are gone with the wind.

Jailbar Thunderbolts don't have clips on the sides, top, and bottom of the frame for the screen, its held on by 2 bolts on both sides of the screen frame mounted on the front row bars(Obviously).

Unfortunately, i think you may be right. I've been looking at Google Maps too for days now and haven't seen anything except for a Fallout Shelter, and even there there is nothing. I've been checking the rooftops of Schools and Government Buildings to try to find something, but to no avail.
Perhaps the rest are just on top of poles or in inconspicuous spots.

I'd still be looking though.

It's still worth a look. I did find a building with 2 signs on it at Cumberland Ave. and Locust St, but this is about sirens, not shelters. All that proves is Portland had some kind of Civil Defense.

UPDATE 8/3/2018 According to the Civil Defense Matching Funds List, Auburn, Lewiston, and Augusta may have had Thunderbolt units installed. If not, Allertors would've been in place.
In addition, Portland had 10 SD-10/2T22 units installed.

Wow! There’s gotta be a few left, wouldn’t you think? We gotta get back to work hunting!

New to the board, but came across this thread while researching some Maine Yankee Atomic Power Co. stuff... I perform the annual fire alarm inspection at the Portland Expo and had inquired with the building maintenance person while I was there about the siren. He said he had long looked for the controls to it but could not find them anywhere in the building. We took a look around together and couldn't locate them, but the base of the siren is clearly visible from inside the arena.

The basement is also a huge fallout shelter, the signs did not list a capacity.

Just thought I'd throw this out there. I'd love to hear that thing roar to life while watching a Sea Dogs game! =)
