Alert: 0:00 Wail: 3:42
Recorded on August 5, 2017. This is a monthly warning siren test of the Spartanburg County's Emergency Warning Siren System. This siren is tested at the first Saturday of every month at 1:00 PM ET. I wasn't thinking this siren will work but it actually does work! If you think there is something wrong with your computer/phone speaker/headphones, no, there's nothing wrong with yours. One of this siren's speaker drivers are blown. You can listen closely that you can hear one of the speaker drivers making a "t t t". This siren isn't exactly very loud (I didn't need ear protection for this test). But this siren is loud enough to echo the trees. Spartanburg County is no longer fixing their siren system (means this siren is not being fixed) as of winter 2017. By the way there are 2 more sirens that I need to record and that's all I can record in this county. You can faintly hear the Whelen Vortex/4000 in Landrum, SC and the Thunderbeam/RSH-10 (the one with the very fast rotating reflector) after the alert/wail. This siren is located near (east) Campobello at New Prospect Fire and Rescue Station #2.
