While watching the news tonight, I saw that the city of Minneapolis is installing 7 new sirens to fill coverage gaps. As you may know, their current system is 42 Whelen Vortexes and a Thunderbolt 1000T. They did not say what model the sirens were going to be, but they'll likely be more Vortexes.

Here are the locations:

- 2039 Franklin Ave. E
- 10 25th St. W
- 1201 22nd St. E
- 1509 Linden Ave. W
- 201 Royalston Ave. N.
- 201 Island Ave. E
- Intersection of Hennepin Ave. S & Oak Grove St.

In the next few days/weeks, I will be keeping a look out for those sirens.

Who is doing the work, any idea? I'd really like to pick up an ACA Allertor from one of the old signals if I can assuming they still have any of the old gear laying around. I know white bear lake had some in the recent past but I dont know anymore since I do not live in WBL anymore...

I do not know who's doing the work. A couple of the city's old sirens were sold on eBay but I don't know what happened to the rest.

Also, White Bear Lake's Allertors are still active.

I would assume Frontline would be doing the installs. All WBL sirens should still remain.

I still think it's really neat that they are keeping that A1 4/5 Tbolt around. That thing is sooo nice.

I wonder if these will do repetitive blasts of noon test like the rest or use the usual wail tone. Their vendor should give Clark a call and have him whip up a custom tone for those controllers. The 2030 logic board is capable of doing attack like a mechanical siren, just not implemented in the firmware.
