Speaking of the Eclipse series, do any of you like this siren? I like it due to the fact that the siren's tone has a lower pitch than its predecesor, the STH 10. This siren is also capable of battery backup.
Federal Signal Thunderbolt Series, still the King of Air Raid Sirens!

It uses the 48 VDC motor from the 2001.
Battery back-up is the way to go.

What pitch does it attain?

I think it is an excellent design, especially with the exponential horns to make it as efficient as possible.
Do the horns alone raise dB from 107 to 115 dB?
Thank you,

Yes, the horns do help the sound travel farther, because they concentrate the energy of the sound.

I guess the reasoning for Fed. Sig. to release the Eclipse 8 and Eclipse NH is to try and compete with American Signal with their T-112 and T-121 series.

Seeing that while certain communities wish to protect themselves with sirens, a 2001 or T-128 might be a bit expensive and American Signal's answer to that was the lower powered T-112 and T-121.

Federal Signal did not have such a small scale siren like that to compete with (the T-112 scares the socks off the Model 2 anyway). So it makes sense that all of the lower end market were buying from American Signal.

I'm not sure of the pricing of the Eclipses, but the T-112 and T-121 still beats the equivalent Eclipses in terms of dB output.

That's what I think anyway.

Even with the horns, this siren is not very loud. It sounds very similar to a Model 2 in terms of volume. As I've posted elsewhere, one of our local departments traded in their STH 10 for the Eclipse 8. There is simply no comparison.
