Anybody else a siren enthusiast in Illinois? It is hard to find sirens by me because I live in a very small village of 800 people (Mansfield ,IL) Anyways if you have pictures of Illinois sirens, share them here. Is anybody from or around Central Illinois or close to Piatt county?? I have a few pictures to share myself from the next town over and from my hometown.

Welcome to the board! We have plenty of IL siren enthusiasts around. I used to live in the area up until 3 weeks ago and am very familiar with the area. Feel free to check out the statewide map!

I have some good news today to tomorrow I am going to record the test of my local whelen. Yep. We only have 2 sirens in our town and they are whelens. My mom and I usually have to drive to the next towns over, but look out for the whelen test. I also may be able to get the test of that one thunderbolt 1000 or the aca allertor but they are only tested once every first Tuesday of the month at 12pm. (side note ) (I know my profile name says Mr.Tbolt1003 but I am not actually a guy though :D )

About the whelen test... I have been trying to upload the video from my phone but I have been having issues. I tried google drive but it did not work. Dropbox would not work either. I may get my camera record it and upload from the sd card.

Welcome To The Siren Board! I am a siren enthusiast that lives in Maryville, IL. Our town's siren system is composed of 2 Whelen Vortexes. One of them has an ESC-2020 560Hz Electronic Controler. The other one, that I live the closest to, has an ESC-864 Digital Controler. The Whelen Vortex that I live near to, many years ago, it had a finback installed on it, but then for some reason that is still unknown to this day, they removed the fin. I still dont know why, but they just did for some reason. :| Lol.

You should go check out the old K-5 on the side of the fire museum in town! I have tried for years to get in touch with them but to no avail.
