Woa lots of replies! Okay so Conner sorry bro I must have misread that. Greenfield right I added the 6M to reference the sound on a 1000T but I didn't make that clear. Sorry. Basically I'm trying to say that the buzz doesn't sound like a 5M to me but I could be wrong. Hard to tell without rotation.

You know, this would be 10x easier if someone knew the year it was manufactured.

Unfortunately, the controls are in a shed (the siren's pole goes through the roof of the shed) that has a gate blocking the entrance, plus its at a police station; so i am unable to see what year the siren was manufactured in. If and when I go back out there this summer I might ask if I could have a look at the controls

There's a tag on the outside of the blower. It's on the back of the cover on the bracket that holds the box to the frame.

Back of the cover is inside the shed

Sounds like a 4M blower to me. Although it could be a 5M or 6M.

Yeah it's highly highly likely that it's 4M. There's such a small number of 5M 1003s, it's not worth that much of a debate.

6M is off the board entirely. 6M blowers were never used on 1003s, and their covers are shaped differently anyway

Yeah that would make sense since the 5M blower came out right as the 1003 came out. Only 5M 1003s that I know of are the ones in Newberry, SC
