The Siren Board

Does anybody on here know what the possible cause was for the massive number of tornado sirens in the Dallas-area that "malfunctioned" and kept people up for nearly THREE HOURS last night (4/7/17) ??? Clear weather, no storms even remotely close to the DFW area. The official statement is that the incredible number of sirens that went off were "malfunctioning". Something else that seemed odd to me was that the sirens had to be MANUALLY turned off by city work crews and fire personnel. Any theories?
