That is a strange ATI... No wonder they get so many lawsuits. Looks a lot like a Whelen Vortex with strange housing and 2 throats...

Here is one from the Susquehanna Power Plant system next to the siren it replaced...these have all been replaced by ASC T-121 sirens after PP&L (Pennsylvania Power and Light) sued ATI.

No suprise there then. Anyone know what model it is? Charlie said earlier that a 2-horn one was the HPSS32-R but i'm beginning to think that is a HPSS16-R and the 4-horn is the HPSS32-R as the other way round doesn't make sense. Does anyone know for sure?

ATI keeps on producing and manufacturing sirens that are just screaming "sue me", yet they have no intent to stop.

That Thunderbolt is really cool though, definitely helps the eye sore ATI.

They all seem to bear a resemblance to something. HPSS16/32 = ASC E-Class..

HPSS16/32-R = failed attempt at a Whelen

Its completely ridiculous, and as I mentioned, they produce them knowing they will get sued.

A Whelen with some strange cage around it isn't going to protect its true identity.

Well, ATI, ASC, and Hormann, too, I think, buy their horns from another company.

To tell you the truth, I kinda like the way the rotating ATI model looks like... it's not goofy like the other speakers that ATI uses. Still, there are allot of Whelen design cues in there, from the horn structure to the oscillation-system.

ATI didn't get sued because the siren looks like a Whelen... they got sued because thier system was subpar. The design, while it bears a resembelence to a Whelen, is ATI's own design. They are poorly built sirens and no matter what the speaker looks like.. it is still ATI sounds boards.
