St. Peters, Mo. has replaced their last 2T22 with a 2001

The 2T22 must have been replaced just yesterday, since I had driven by the high school this past Saturday where it had been located, and it was still there. I'm not surprised to see the 2001 in its place, as I knew its days were numbered, and since the City of St. Peters began phasing out their T-Bolts, 2T22s and Thunderbeams over the past several years and replacing them with 2001s. This last 2T22 was one of two 2T22s the city had out of its 14 sirens. I'm not sure if St. Peters has replaced its last remaining "old school" siren, a Thunderbeam, over near a park, about ten miles east of my house, so I'm going to have to take a ride over that way soon.

I realize that the 2001 will be a more reliable siren, but I'll miss not seeing that 2T22 in CD Yellow when I pass by that way in the future. :3t22: :2001:

Well I was glad I was able to film it two times before this happened. I was going to try to obtain it but they (St.peters) make you jump through hoops and red tape and even then they wont sell it to you .

Was it this single-phase little number? If so it sounded pretty healthy.

Dude thats the siren I heard when that storm on 5-31-13 came through. I'm really sad knowing that its gone as know i'm stuck in no man's land of whelens and 2001's.

The good thing is is that if the power goes out during a severe storm/tornado, the 2001 will keep blaring, since it's battery operated, vs. the 2T22 that had a power line attached to it to keep it going. And the 2001 has a higher decibel rating than a 2T22. Yes, it sucks that St. Charles County, with the exception of the Cities of St. Charles and St. Peters, is Whelen country.
