Well, I have a lead on some Allertors and some leads on these SD10's. I like the idea of the Allertors 125 Db warning power but i am afraid that i'd get a dud that wouldn't rotate. And as with these SD10's, not much to go wrong with them but they don't pack the punch that the Allertor has.

Do you care if the Allertor rotates?
I'd rather it be still so I could stand right in front of it!

It is so ugly, I like it.
But it's intrusive and awkward looking for display in your yard.

The SD-10 is a nice shape and compact. No reminder of a toilet bowl and tank (projector).

Why not get one of each?

If they have an extra SD-10, we could use one.

The only reasons I would want an Allertor over an SD10 is because:

1. All I have is Federal Signal sirens.

2. I don't want to mess with another siren on angle irons for a while.

Are you getting sirens for a collection or are you putting them up in a town?

They will be going back into service.

As many of you were aware, we were supposed to be getting some 2T22's from a neighboring community but that deal fell completely through. Politics are the hold-up so we are going to try and use another avenue.

Like I say, these sirens are going to go into service and protect a community. I am looking for something that will be easy to maintain but will get the job done. Thats why I was asking about the ALLERTORS and the SD10's.

Oh.
Sorry.
That changes everything.
I defer to Daniel.
If we had a rotating siren like an Allertor, but it had rotation problems,
but if pointing it in one direction would suffice, I'd get it and permanently aim it's louder sound were needed, rather than a less loud omni-directional siren.

Allertors are such an eyesore. Especially when you live right behind one.....
