Dublin Siren Malfunction

So I'm parking at my workplace and out of nowhere, the siren across the street burst into hi-lo mode. Knowing how some Whelens have a tendency to do this and knowing Dublin never uses this signal, I knew it was a malfunction right off the bat. It went on for about 5 3 minute cycles with only a few seconds between cycles. I missed the last couple as I had to jump in a meeting unfortunately.

This siren is a Whelen WPS-2750 with an updated control kit.

The ribbon cable going from the keypad to the motherboard probably shorted out. We had that happen to a 2810 that ran for 15 minutes in alert. How do you like your amps and drivers, toasted, fried crispy, or roasted? lol

Ribbon cables have a tendency to short out. Every student at my school has a MacBook, and the hard drives are connected via ribbon cable and normally when the hard drives crash it's because the ribbon cable shorted out. Don't get me wrong, I think ribbon cable is great, but it could be a little thicker.

I figured right away it was more than likely a short in the ribbon cable.
