The closest rare siren I know of around here is in Amarillo which is a System 2000 or 7000 (I don't remember which model).

Oh, you are saying "does anyone live near a rare siren." I thought you meant "does anyone own a rare siren by Federal." I grew up in Mount Shasta, California, which used to have an Erick Fire Siren. It was removed in 2004 and put in storage somewhere, but it hadn't been used since the 1950's. I also lived in Ashland, Oregon, which had a Fedelcode coding siren with a motorized damper, but that was removed too. Right now, I live near a 1920's Sterling, a 3T22, an STH-10, some Model 5's and 2's, and Darley look-alikes, all of which are still in use.

The rarest siren I know of around here is up in Haven. It's a Sterling M-10.

Well around here we have one Model 2, one 3t22, and lots of Thunderbolts, single and dual tone, and a few Thunderbeams.

I guess the 3t22 would be the rarest of the bunch, especially since it still does a perfect high/low.

LOL! I knew you were going to say that!

About 120 feet from my house is a rare Single-Toned Allertor.
Got several videos of that one on YouTube.

About 4 miles away in Barrington, theres a rare-er Thunderbolt 1000T, w/ the 5/4 ratio.

On the other side of the Metro area, Darien has to ACA Hurricane MKIIs, which are VERY rare. And of course, the Federal Signal plant has an Eclipse 8 out front

Hmm, well...I think I (and probably Elliot too) have that rare home-grown siren at the Colerain VFD, but I haven't seen it in person. Edit: Oh yeah...there's an 812 on a fire station somewhere in semi-rural Northern Kentucky. I may post pictures of it.

If your siren is a-failin'
Chances are that it's a Whelen
And if it's just about to die
Then it must be an ATI
