Siratone 812 Video

Fri May 18, 2007 12:09 am

Here's a news video that shows 2 breif clips of a Siratone 812 in Ripon, WI doing alert. It shows it briefly at the beginning and then again at 2:29. I do know that Ripon at least has 2 612s and a Whelen Vortex but I don't know if the 812 is still there. It may not even be in Ripon, it may just be stock fottage of an 812 that the station had but I figured since Ripon has 612s they may have 812 too. Also it's such a rare siren.

Cool clip of the 812.

Whoa! 132dB is very loud! And we already have the Minnesota video of the 408, now the Wisconsin video of the 816, and of course, the 612. Now we have the videos of all the Siratone rotating sirens. :D

The only siren I ever see in Ripon is a TB on the West end of Town on
Hwy 22. Green Lake (West of Ripon) has 2T22's I seen them, and Rosedale (East of Ripon) has a STH & STL

Maybe it wasn't Ripon that had the 612s and the Vortex, I'm actually thinking it maybe another town in WI that had those. Nonetheless, it's a rare siren caught on video!

For a while it was the most powerful electronic siren in the world.
There is one located north of here in Burrton; apparently they have never had to replace drivers or amplifiers in it.

Joe, The only T-bolt I ever saw in Ripon was the old one they had on top of the Police station, it was taken down and replaced with a 2001 a few years ago. I did ask them where the t-bolt was a year ago, they didn't know.
Ive also seen an STH-10 in Ripon, and I think that there is a 2T22 somewhere there too.

With the 812, Oshkosh used to have one off of Highway 41. Now there is a very low-mounted T-128 in its spot.
