ACA Screamer Variations

Wed Apr 08, 2015 10:12 pm

Didn't see a topic about this yet, so I thought I'd make one.

There are numerous single tone 9-port Screamers around my area, and the only visible difference is the housing. Any help on the identifications of these sirens is much appreciated!

Here is the first variation. I am 100% sure that this is a Screamer S-2. It's teeny tiny and takes longer to wind up than the other Screamers.

Second variation. This is the most common variation that's found around here. I originally thought that these were S-5s, but the housing style is that of an S-2, and the motor reads 7.5hp. Your thoughts?

Third variation. Like the first two, this one is 9 port single toned, but the bottom shroud comes down and completely covers the stator like an S-10.

S-2, S-5, S-7.5, or S-10? Tell me what you think!

First one is likely a Screamer S-2. The second and third might be S-5s, despite being tagged at 7.5 HP (STH-10s were 7.5HP at one point- same situation, but the other way around) The third one is likely an S-7.5; I've never heard of a 9 port S-10.
