Royal, IL Thunderbolt

Sun May 13, 2007 4:25 pm

Went driving around with the family yesterday, spied this beast in Royal. Luckily I had my camera on me.

Controls, blower. That blower is massive! Judging by the size of the blower box, the thunderbolt logo and the CD underneath it, this must be an A model T-bolt.

Another shot of the blower

You can get a decent look at that cool original Thunderbolt logo here.

There he is!

Such an impressive machine to be standing right under.

And one more.

Hope you enjoyed!

The siren looks cool with the black/yellow scheme, with the black being on the inside of the horn, and the yellow being on the outside. :D

Newer logo almost always means C series.

Also, the C-series blowers are significantly smaller than the A series.

It looks like at least the horn and chopper housing have been repainted recently. I'd love to see them fix up the rest of the siren. Maybe get some new logos and repaint the rest of it.

Yeah, I noticed that too. The horn screen being black gives it a really bold look appropriate for a T-bolt such as this one.

Glad to see a city that still cares for their siren!
