Possible Model 2? *Also help with new siren*

Tue May 08, 2007 7:26 pm

Hey guys, I got to talking to our maintenance man at McDonalds who works with Cresaptown Vol. FD. I asked him what happen to their old Model 2 siren that sat on a light pole in the back lot. He said that it wasn't working right and they were either think of 1. repairing it 2. getting a new siren. or 3. Do away with the siren since they all have pagers.

I asked him that if they didn't want the Model 2, what were my chances of obtaining it? He said that I could practically walk away with it for free if they were going with options 2 and 3.

I should hear back from him tomorrow morning.

Edit 5-12: Here's a link to a pic of the new siren: Image

What kind is this?

Hopefully its a go then! Reminds me of when I got my Model 2. Emailed the guy of Reese Technology Center and asked if they would mind selling one and he just said to remove it...so all I had to pay was a bucket truck fee.

If I get it, I hope to rebuild it in CD Yellow livery including a CD logo on the housing. I'm beginning to wonder, if they go for getting rid of the entire system, if they'll give me the timer as well?

"Timer? You don't need no stinkin' timer."
Give it to me.
Yes, get the timer, too.
They certainly can't use it.
(Or can they with the new siren?)

Fire departments around here will surely try and use whatever parts they can to save money. Plus I don't think CVFD could afford a totally electronic siren or a Electro-Mechanical made today.
