A fire department needing a working siren could use this siren. Battery backup would not be a problem if the FD had a generator for their building. Also, how tall is the head of the P50 (first generation T135)?

If it were mine and there were any damage to the projector or the rotor, I'd just scrap these and convert the innards into a vertical, omnidirectional siren.
I think the diameter of the P-50 horn is about 6' in diameter, which is large enough for someone to stand inside. Also, if you want to make an omnidirectional siren out of that, then it'll become the Cyclone.
I wonder how the people in the top floor offices felt on test day?
They're taking the opportunity to replace this siren with a siren with battery backup - they may even be taking advantage of insurance money in some way. Of course they could replace the controls if they chose.
