Finally dawned on me while I was approaching Lowe's that it was close to test time, so I went and picked out a spot in the parking lot and recorded with my Kodak DX7590

The siren sounds like it's fluctuating when it reaches near the peak of the attack signal. Voltage or motor problems?

I remember a topic a while back that said it did have motor problems, but I thought that they fixed them? :?

Yeah, Motor problems. They're putting brushes in every year. I'd say she's about near the end of her lifecycle. I'll contact Eddie (Manager of the Wal-mart McDonalds and Chief of LVFD) and see if he'll get me a history of repairs on her.

Well if they keep putting brushes in and don't turn the comutator it's just going to keep eating brushes up. and rune the comutator to a point where it is going to have to be rebared.

Thanks, And I'll be sure to check with the chief to see if they're turning the commutator.

I think they should replace that siren, either with an Eclipse, Modulator, or 4 stack DSA.
