Two Chrysler Air Raid Sirens for Sale - WW2 and Cold War

Fri Oct 03, 2014 8:05 pm

Hi all!

I know your not suppose to post things for sale that aren't yours but I think this is an exception due to the pure fascination and rarity. Plus I don't think most of us could afford them anyway  I have seen tones of photos and videos of these units, they are not an amazing barn find. The custom Victory siren I remember a video being posted here of him building it with the SD-10 guts. Nonetheless check out the ad, super interesting! They can be yours for the low steal price of $75000 haha!

I could be wrong, but the Army Green Chrysler has the rotor of an SD-10 due to the piece jutting out of the rotor.

Read the auction description....
He makes a big deal out of the green one being the only "Chrysler Bell Victory Siren" in existence just after he states that the siren is a replica he built over a period of 2 years and that it has a sd10 chopper in it. How in the he11 is it a Chrysler Bell if he built the thing as a replica with a Federal rotor in it????? He got the engine and frame only which was missing the siren (seems like kind of a big component to be missing) then built a mock up Chrysler Bell that as he also says "sounds like a siren" What a load of b.s.

I wish that was the case for me. Between flight training and getting my 3 degrees, I kicked $125,000 right in the teeth. Regardless, I kindly let him know that this siren is not extremely rare and there are more than just his that are still in existence. Typical history buff that overprices everything. I would offer him an honest $37,000 for both.
Considering what Eric (That is your name right CDV777-1?) said it sounds like a huge con... I wouldn't even offer him $25,000 for both. Maybe an honest $5-10,000 for the red one... But much less for the green one. I mean I understand the history buff thing... But the thing is sounding like a full on con/rob.

I asked the guy if he would sell the Chrysler separate from the "Victory" siren and he said he would, for $35,000.
Just because you're offended, doesn't mean you're right.

The replica would be pretty awesome if he had fabricated the internals similar to the original.

As for it being the last one in existence, there are at least two original Victory Sirens surviving in China, albeit with large electric motors in place of the original engines. I believe Jielong (Lion King Sirens) was the one who found them and posted the videos.

Got the links to the videos? I'd love to hear one with an electric motor driving it. 8)

I don't, they were posted a long time ago. They didn't go off in the videos though, it was just a walk around looking at the siren.
